Dumsor Dumsor, a Play

When you live in a country where the rationing of electricity can be frequent at certain times within the year; or when the situation seems to be under control and you are starting to enjoy your fully-powered gadgets, you are reminded you are not alone; you tend to make a joke of the mess.

The play Dumsor Dumsor is one such play, reflecting the ongoing power crisis in Ghana in a creative way. The original play is by Peter Shaffer and has been adapted by Bright Jefferson Djangmah. A comedy, the play is directed by Kobina Hagan. Hagan also directed the play “It Runs in the Family”.

It’s on stage at the Efua Sutherland Drama Studio at the University of Ghana from Thursday, 4 December through to Saturday December. It costs only GhS10 to get into the theatre.

The play will be performed at the Ashesi University on Thursday, 11 December 2014 as well.
